Through layered surfaces and restrained gestures, these works examine the quiet weight of presentation—managing chronic illness while performatively trying to meet societal expectations. The sculptures question what is revealed and what is hidden behind a composed facade, capturing the invisible endurance required to carry both.
Tranquil Turmoil
This series reflects the delicate balance between being a caregiver and not abandoning yourself. From calm female faces referencing the Modena to block-like houses, simplified forms are gathered to create vignettes that comment on contemporary life—capturing the reality of imperfect mothers who are spread too thin, yet still working to create a happy home.
Same Boat
The Same Boat series considers human vulnerability and collective endurance. These works reflect emotional and external challenges, framing them as waves and ambiguous but sharp dangers. The imperfect houses convey families trying to stay afloat amid these forces, and through repetition and subtle variation, the paintings and sculptures suggest that while experiences may differ, the human condition often places us in the same vessel, navigating uncertainty together.
